Chinese Government funded scholarships

  • China Scholarship Council (CSC) Scholarships– The scholarship is open to all international students who wish to study in China. You will be asked to fill out an online form and select one of the 243 Chinese universities offering CSC scholarships. 
  • Jiangsu Government Scholarship– The Jiangsu Provincial Government set up the Jiangsu Government Scholarship to encourage international students to study in Jiangsu. The scholarship will award you the full cost of tuition, registration, lab experiment, internships, accommodation and medical insurance.
  • Hubei Provincial Scholarships– This scholarship is open to students wishing to study a bachelor’s, PhD, or master’s degree in any subject taught in any university in Hubei.
  • Beijing Government Scholarship– The Beijing Municipal Government is offering scholarships to international students looking to study at universities in Beijing. The scholarship covers tuition fees either fully or partially and is open to undergraduates and master’s students.
  • Guanxi Government Scholarship for ASEAN Students– This scholarship was established by the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in 2010 to fund international students from ASEAN countries. The scholarship includes the cost of tuition fees, textbooks, accommodation and medical insurance.

Non-government funded scholarships (Study in china scholarships)

  • Confuncius Institutue Scholarship– There are seven types of scholarship on offer from the Confucius Institute headquarters for international students between the ages of 16 and 35, looking to study in a Chinese university.   • British Council China Scholarship– The scholarships cover tuition fees, accommodation and a monthly living allowance. Average basis; students spend $4000 for accommodation, $2000 for food, transportation, clothing, etc. per annum. This could be a monthly budget of $500.

However, due to study materials and other expenses, students are advised to budget about $10000. Application is open for China scholarship for international students and Chinese Government Scholarship.

  • A master’s degree holder and below the age of 40 if applying for the doctoral programs.
  • Be in good health.
  • Apply through the Chinese Embassy in their home country.
  • Be a high school graduate and not up to the age of 25 if applying for the undergraduate category.
  • A master’s degree holder, under the age of 45 and have completed at least two years of undergraduate study if applying for the general scholars’ program.

Steps for getting Chinese Government Scholarship

You must know that Embassy’s of each country has its own specific application details and deadline information may be updated every year as well.

So what do you do, you must first contact the Chinese Embassy…

1) Submit your application to Chinese Embassy.

2) After reviewing all application documents, China Embassy will issue the award letter to qualified candidate for Chinese Government Scholarship

3) However you must know that applicant who is not on the list of candidates will not get noticed.

3) Contact with universities in China that you want to apply for with the award letter. Pre-admission letter will be issued.

4) Finally, Submit your pre-admission letter to Chinese Embassy.

Note: The pre-admission letter from a Chinese university is not a necessary application material. Applications enclosed with the pre-admission letter will be sent directly to the host universities for placement confirmation.

4) Chinese Embassy will send all applications to Chinese Scholarship Council for final review.

5) After all this, then wait for notification of receiving scholarship.
