International students are eligible for merit-based financial aid offered by Colby-Sawyer College. The scholarship value increases based on academic ability (measured in GPA) and ranges from $15,000 up to $28,000 per year.

East West Center  (Study in USA for International Students)

The East-West Center Graduate Degree Fellowship provides funding for up to 24 months for Masters or Doctoral degree studies.  Mostly for graduate students from Asia, the Pacific, and the U.S. to participate in the educational, residential, and leadership development programs.

Emory College Scholarships

Emory College offers need-based financial aid awards to a group of international students each year. International applicants are encouraged to apply for partial to full merit-based scholarships through the Emory University Scholars Program.

Illinois Wesleyan University Scholarships (Study in USA for International Students)

These awards range from $16,000 to $30,000 per year and are renewable for up to four years. Merit-based scholarships are offered to qualified international applicants with outstanding academic achievement and test scores on the required entrance exams.

Study Cycle (Study in USA for International Students)

In the USA, Admissions take place in 3 semesters.

  • Fall semester
    • The semester starts late in August and ends in December or early January.
    • Many universities offer selected courses only during the fall semester.
    • Most of the Scholarships and job opportunities are available during this time only.
  • Spring Semester
    • Spring Semester starts in January and ends in early May.
    • Applications are considered less than those during the fall semester.
    • Spring applicants do not meet the eligibility for most of the applications.
  • Summer Semester
    • The summer semester is the shortest of all semesters.
    • It’s two months long. Starting in June and ending in July.
    • Special summer programs are taught this semester.

Degree courses in USA

There are two types of undergraduate degrees:

  • Associate degrees – take 2 years to complete and are usually studied at technical, community or junior colleges. Students can study for an associate qualification in a range of subjects and then transfer to a Bachelors’s program to complete an additional two years of study to gain a Bachelors’s degree.
  • Bachelors degrees – Take 4 years to complete. They differ from UK undergraduate degrees in that students study a variety of subjects before deciding on which to focus on in the final two years, known as a ‘major’.

How to Apply for usa visa

  • Firstly, you are to be accepted by the university or college you want to go to and study.
  • They will send you the I-20 form to be filled out and apply for the student visa.
  • In the next step, apply for an online DS-160 form for a USA visa.
  • Fill out that form carefully and take a printout of the confirmation page to carry it to the visa interview.
  • Pay the Fees for Visa.
  • Schedule biometrics (a photograph is taken, fingerprints are scanned) and interview appointments.
  • The interview will consist of questions related to the choice of your college, course, and intent to come back to your home country.
  • If you pass the interview, the passport will be taken to get the Visa Stamped.
  • Then you can submit other necessary documents and prepare for your travel.
