About the Taiwan International Higher Education Scholarship Program

TaiwanICDF’s International Higher Education Scholarship Program aims to assist partner developing countries in achieving sustainable development through education. The TaiwanICDF provides scholarships for higher education and has developed undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. programs in cooperation with renowned partner universities in Taiwan.

Furthermore, one of the main initiatives of the TaiwanICDF, among many others, has always been international education and training. Programs for the development of human resources are essential to helping partner nations achieve sustainable development, and education is a vital tool for preparing the labor force in developing nations. In collaboration with esteemed partner universities in Taiwan, the TaiwanICDF has created undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs and offers scholarships for further education.

Moreover, with 22 partner universities, the TaiwanICDF founded the Taiwan International Cooperation Alliance (TICA), creating an operational platform under the TICA framework to oversee and enhance the scholarship program. The TaiwanICDF provides each scholarship recipient with a full scholarship, including return airfare, housing, tuition and credit fees, insurance, textbook costs, and a monthly allowance (NT$12,000/ month for undergraduates, NT$15,000/ month for masters, and NT$17,000/ month for Ph.D.).

Eligibility Requirements for the Taiwan International Higher Education Scholarship Program

Furthermore, you must meet the following criteria below to be eligible to apply for the Taiwan International Higher Education Scholarship Program.

  • Be a citizen of a country on the List of Countries Eligible for the TaiwanICDF Scholarship, and satisfy any specific criteria established by his or her country and government of citizenship.
  • Neither be a national of the Republic of China (Taiwan) nor an overseas compatriot student.
  • Satisfy the admission requirements of the partner university to which he or she has applied to study under a TaiwanICDF scholarship.
  • Be able to satisfy all requirements for a Resident Visa.

How to Apply

Furthermore, you can follow the step-by-step application guide below to apply for the Taiwan International Higher Education Scholarship Program.

Applicants must complete their application through the online application system and then submit a signed, printed copy along with all other application documents to the ROC (Taiwan) Embassy/ Consulate General/ Representative Office stationed in your country.

In addition to the above documents requested as part of their scholarship application, applicants should also submit all documents required by the TaiwanICDF partner schools that they are applying to before the admissions deadline of that university.

Please note that each applicant can only apply for one program at a time. The applicant also needs to submit a separate program application to his or her chosen universities.

The annual application period runs, in principle, from 1 January to 15 March (for 2023 Scholarship programs, the application period runs from 1 January – 15 March 2023).
